          September is always a busy week in New York Manhattan, and no, it is not because Kenyan runners are  suddenly plotting  running strategies around the city, on how to win perhaps for the 20th successive time , another converted NYC Marathon.Let’s face it , but the guys and gals from East Africa are great, and pretty soon Europeans , Americans and the rest of the world might have to send running coaches to the Rift Valley ,to again relearn the art of running. The prize for the American or European to win a race by touching the finish line at number 50 or 55, just does not have the same appeal, but  I however digress. 

    September was particularly exciting this year for several reasons. The first was that the Iranians are in the town , and one can be guaranteed some sort of controversy, to the same extent that one can expect Paris Hilton to flash her colorful underwear while exiting a car en route to Japan or Europe so as to get  her private , as well as airport security in a fit , a fading Rapper call HI , or perhaps TI , on the verge of launching an album, would be caught with a gun ,and a bag of weed, or some spoil half drunk , insecure kid,perhaps  with the initial LH ,would breach some drug probation requirement , and write about it on twitter , to thumb her nose at the system , knowing fully well , she won’t suffer a similar fate as some poor Hispanic slob from South Central , or the leading ,gang banger from Reverend Ike Turner High School in the Bronx NY.

 Twenty Five years ago Wllie Nelson spearheaded a live aid , all star open - air music concert , in an effort to give some sort of help for struggling American farmers that were waddling in social ,and economic  despair throughout the country.
  Many were loosing their farms, some were committing suicide , due to indebtedness , and the barrage of uncaring behaviors by  selfish business , and politicians , that somehow   reminds one of   what is occurring today in America the Land of the Free, as we speak. Loosely called Farm Aid ,these  efforts were able to spur huge reliefs, and support for working families as a result of the initial $9million  they were able to  garner.
 Not surprisingly , Willie , and other American Rock icons were able to parlay this into a well established movement , and organization, to continually build , and continually  give back.Having raised some $37 million to date since 1985, and pushing the drive for expanding family farming , away from the narrow interest of corporate industrial  agriculture , Willie and his fellow musicians,thus showed what  good can occur ,if socially conscious folks in any walk of life.

  Today the farming industry is as vibrant as ever, and is one of the backbone of American society. It  can perhaps only be rival by that which exist in Europe- in terms of power and influence-so much so that they are in turn playing their part in helping the  less fortunate starving across the world , by giving where necessary when called upon.
  I am however concern about a small group that seems to be left in the shuffle by equally callous politicians,and  bureaucratic legal agents , and some might even say uncaring  community leaders , or  hard core  activist ,even if they too have needs, and are  crying  out for social justice , with little to show in returns.
 I am referring of course to some 30,000 American Black Farmers  that recently won  $1.25 Billion ,in a long overdue  settlement, the results of decades of blatant USDA discriminations, that was repeatedly  extended to them , as opposed to others.

     Twinkle toes Clinton, during his midlife crisis escapades,was too busy administering to young female interns,barely  old enough, to be his daughter , and if you were not some Wall Street yuppie ,or a pimple face  computer Dot Com Geek , you did not have a chance to accrue any noticeable benefits from his economic bubble. 

    G.W Bush according to controversial  Rapper Kanye West, did not like Black People , or one might add, neither did he care for  white, yellow , red,and brown people , unless they were high end ,Skull and Bones elitist drinking, and bird shooting  pals from his Frat days, or Haliburton ,or Black Water Oil , and Security tycoons executives  , eagerly anticipating the next war  for profit  ,false enemies denunciations, post multilateralism 'Contract With America.' 

What does that leave us with today? Well ,Uncle Obama , is trying to do the impossible while swimming up a piranha infested creek, but has to contend with  9 million jobs that  simply   disappeared,  in a long drawn our recession he inherited, and America is now  in an understandable  foul mood, and close to despair.  With accusation flying left , right, and center ,as to who  is to blame,it is fair to say that a crisis is on. 

    I cannot help but remember the words of an old Coca Cola ,former CEO, Roberto C. Goizueta , who said the following :"Bad things happen because of what we did in good times,good things happen because of what we did in bad times." 

   What does that mean for common folks not named Gates, Trump, Bloomberg,Winfrey ,or the hundreds of millionaires and billionaires capitalist beneficiaries that happened to be citizens?  Well ,they must of necessity roll up those sleeves , so as to etch out some sort of existence .
 Hopefully we can  get those  entrepreneurial juices moving , like was done in the past, when the going got rough . 

Uncle Obama , you claim to be an ardent student of history,an admirer of Reagan , and Lincoln and all that , but it's time to flip the scrip a bit even if it mean getting rid of a few more delusional economic advisors.
 I say , push some 'trickle up economics initiatives,' as spending further dollars on high end Wall Street , and other business entities, so that they can continue to invest overseas , as opposed to the domestically, just won't cut it.

Equal Rights and Justice

It's a beautiful day in these United States , and that's besides the rhetoric of the usual 'self aggrandizing doom and gloomers,' that you are only too familiar with, that there is simply no need to bore you with any of  their names, agreed?

    In an effort to appeal to the conscience , and moral decency ,of the seemingly heartless across the global village ,South African Archbishop , and eventual Nobel Peace Prize winner, Desmond Tutu , a very  staunch opponent of  his country's   barbaric ,and dehumanizing  Apartheid system,  was forced to say the following:-  “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.”
 My question is leveled at you fellow global citizens - where do you stand on glaring unresolved INJUSTICES AND ATROCITIES  that are still existing ,starting at home ,and including  the entire spectrum of  the developed industrialized , Global  North , all the way down to those insignificant ,developing/ emerging ,members of the  Global South ?
For the record , many of the problems I am referring to , threatens to make Apartheid  SA back then ,or early pioneering American or Canadian neo genocidal Cherokee nation land grab,   appear like a Mother Theresa Sunday School picnic in comparison.
    I know that  you were  not hiding under a rock on Planet Pluto ,for the past two decades since "the end of history," when the two alleged global Cold War enemies decided to start their tribal  love feast, after decades of ideological divisions ,  proxy wars, as well as exploitations for human, and or  natural resources , often via  enabling of  brutal regimes , 'primarily' amongst black , brown, yellow , and red folks outside of Europe.  

   As you tune in to the useless baseless  shenanigans of the complicit, conglomerate , corporate media  agents , you are more confuse ,  overwhelmed, and suffers more from  a sense of intellectual fatigue, coupled with powerlessness , to do anything tangible, and so you fall for the many typical excuses in explanation. 

   Many of the assertions are familiar , and might have emanated from your own mouths occasionally , I am certain. These include , but are not limited to the following:- 'They don't like us ,and our ways of life.' 'These folks are simply uncivilized ,hopeless , unrepentant ,savages.' 'We already have enough on our own plate to deal with , and so cannot afford to grapple with the problems ,and challenges that others are left with- even if our respective leaders were the initial causes of the present social maladies.' 'Our respective countries should do whatever is necessary to ensure that our immigration laws are tightened ,so as to ensure that such stay miscreants and their degenerate off springs ,stay away from our continent, as we do not wish that they eventually try to impose their will, and way of life upon us.' Sound familiar?

Now that's the easy part, but what about the plight of freedom loving , conscionable ,second and third generations folks  that are either born , or lived here for decades ,who  are troubled at prevailing affairs both domestically, and internationally that affects others that look like they are?

 You justifiably denounce and punish the overzealous amongst them that choose to resort to illegal , unlawful methods, to make perceived  wrongs right, but what about that decent, caring ,social and political activists, that views peace, security, and sustainable development  for all, in a more progressive , all embracing , mutually respectful way? Time to take a stand , by deciding to get socially and politically engaged beyond the typical narrow, pro- tribal, ideological , or class oriented premise.The reasons  are simple - a family, society,nation, or world  cannot fully strive and  reach it's full potential , if any of it's respective members are left behind, or stuck in hopeless socio economic , and or political state.

Of course each of us is now fully well , of the billions of dollars worth in damage committed in the US Gulf Coast recently by the BP oil giant, but should not forget that for over 30 years ,similar and worst results occurred  in the Niger Delta due to oil exploration and extraction.

Does God as we know it really exist, or is he/ she some mystical creation , and figment of the imagination, that initially emanated within the minds of primitive humans in efforts to grapple with the complexities of a dangerous , hostile world, which included fear of wild animals , inability to find sufficient food, concern for injuries ,diseases , and all forms of natural phenomena such as thunder, lightening, floods ,and volcanoes ?

Noted German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsch,was known to have said, “Your god is dead and only the ignorant weep. And if you claim there is a hell, then we shall meet there.” Buddha added ,“Gripped by fear people go to the sacred mountains, scared groves, sacred trees and shrines.

There is indeed a strong argument to be made to substantiate this viewpoint that concern for security by man was the prime reason why an idea of god was created. One should note that particularly in times of crisis some folks become even more religious , and adhere to the distorted notion of a god , as it hopefully brings comfort, and strength to deal with life. Put more broadly gods are made to give comfort in good times, courage in times of danger, and consolation when things go wrong. Instead of prostration on the ground , and before and alter and praying in times of needs , then believe that such prays were answered or not depending on this caring, loving, long suffering and revengeful god, here is a more prudent approach that deviate from the god- idea , which is essentially a “ response to fear and frustration.”

Immigration in this country has always been linked to labour needs , and this started the day slavery officially ended , continued to the expansion of the industrial northern, and North Eastern, regions, as well as railroad constructions, and other developmental needs in the West.
The irony of the main distinction should not be lost on anyone , unless they are awaking from a long coma. After much cajoling for close to eight weeks , I finally got my 13 year old 6ft.2” , 248 pounds son to put down his addictive XBox live and head to the park for a power walk . When questioned he claimed that the battery for his IPod was about to run out. “Yes I did five laps,” he too forcefully retorted ,after I reminded him that part of the deal I made with him before the purchase of his IPod was that he would do a five lap power walk every day until he could step up his game to running. Perhaps I am too rough on him , kids been kids and need free reigns to know themselves and all such neo psychological Dr. Phil media driven babble and all. I’ll give the guy a break , after all at one time he wanted to be the next NBA future Kevin Garnnet , now his sights are firmly set on making it in the “less strenuous NFL -” his words. Was this after viewing the movie BlindSide? Of this I cannot remember.

A few years ago I was contemplating doing some sociological research on an assignment piece on polygamy , as I was convinced that like other creatures of the animal kingdom , all humans thrive for sexual freedom , and can never be satisfied with one lifelong partner , no matter how beautiful, loving , or satisfying.
